At Home by Design is based in the beautiful Surrey Hills, a stone's throw from the wonderful world of design in Chelsea. The Surrey Hills is rich with Arts & Crafts and Lutyens' architecture as well older styles. It is also home to fantastic local artisans and craftspeople.

At Home by Design was founded by Helen McClure. Her story begins by looking at the world we live in. With a love of travel, she has gathered inspiration and ideas from the 60+ countries she visited, including living in Singapore, the US and the Middle East. She believes:
- that exciting designs are created when you juxapose old and new;
- that you can create exiting new interiors by respecting heritage while developing modern ways of living;
- nature demonstrate perfect colour, texture and pattern combinations.
She has degrees and professional qualifications in interior design, journalism and history, which have fed into a keen interest in the world, culture and how we connect to our environment.
